UAE Green Visa: Overview

The UAE Green Visa is a relatively new type of residence permit introduced by the government in 2022 to attract highly skilled global talent. Designed to make the UAE an even more appealing destination for professionals, the Green Visa offers individuals the opportunity to reside in the Emirates for five years without the need for employer or corporate sponsorship. It also allows holders to sponsor their family members. Although sometimes informally referred to as the “Silver Visa,” Green Visa is the official term.

Key Benefits of the UAE Green Visa

The Green Visa provides several advantages that make it an attractive option for professionals and entrepreneurs:

  • Independent Living and Employment
The Green Visa allows individuals to work and reside in the UAE without employer sponsorship, offering greater flexibility and career autonomy.

  • Family Sponsorship
Green Visa holders can sponsor their immediate family members, helping them settle together in the UAE.

  • Long-Term Residency
With a validity of five years, the Green Visa offers long-term stability, enabling holders to integrate smoothly into UAE society and plan for the future.
